County holding Amber Alert card event

Parents are encouraged to get their children registered with Amber Alert cards at an event hosted by El Paso County Tuesday.

Deputies with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office will be registering only 100 kids for these cards. They are meant to help notify the community when a child goes missing.

At the event, authorities will take a photo I.D., fingerprints, a color photo and create the card.

The card is not an official identification card for the child. It’s only to help in the case of an Amber Alert.

The event goes from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Fabens Volunteer Fire Department Station 2. That’s at 601 OT Smith, Tornillo, TX 79853.
