Man facing 11 counts in child rape case

Doña Ana County Sheriff’s deputies arrested an East Mesa man after a teenage girl accused him of sexually assaulting her several times over the course of four years.

Jesus Munoz-Martinez, 47, has been charged with two first-degree felony counts of criminal sexual penetration of a minor, seven counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor, and two counts of third-degree criminal sexual contact or a minor.

Detectives with the sheriff’s office said the female victim, now 16 years old, disclosed to a counselor that Munoz-Martinez had sexually assaulted her several times between 2010 and 2014.

Deputies took Munoz-Martinez into custody without incident on Sunday, September 24, 2018, at his home in the 7300 block of Pearl Place.

The man was transported to the Doña Ana County Detention Center where he is being held without bond, pending arraignment.
