UTEP Women’s Basketball has its first practice of the season

It was the first day of practice for the UTEP Womens basketball team. We were invited to the Fosters Steven Center to take a look and speak with coach baker and some of his players.

UTEP returns four letter winners from last year.

They also bring on 6 new comers.

Half of the team is comprised of international players.

Their first game will be October 27th in the Haskins center against Western New Mexico.

Polish born player Zuzanna Puc said, “We are excited about everything, we are excited about a new team, new energy that came with new people that coaches recruited here.”

Head Coach Kevin Baker added, “You can feel the excitement in the air. Its just that time of year, its October 1st, basketball season has begun, our team couldn’t be more excited to get things moving. I know we got a bunch of Miner fans out there ready to see some basketball and were ready to give it to them.”
