Beto O’Rourke mural vandalized in Austin

A mural of El Paso Congressman Beto O’Rourke was vandalized in Austin.

The mural features O’Rourke as superhero. It’s now covered with graffiti that reads, “vote now, love trumps hate.”

The vandals also called O’Rourke an “imperialist pig” and an “El Paso gentrifier.”

Police said the mural was vandalized between Friday night and Saturday morning.

No arrests have been made.

The mural was unveiled just last week.

Chris Rogers, the artist, is hosting a clean-up event his week to help restore the painting.

O’Rourke is currently running for the U.S. Senate against Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.
