Eastwood Cross Country wins State Championship

The Eastwood Troopers kicked up a lot of dust this weekend.

The team headed to Austin, Texas for the UIL State Cross Country Championships.

Many of the schools there did not know who the Eastwood Troopers were, but they sure do now.

The team scored a low 62 points securing the title.

This is what Michael McLain said about his team, “Tell you the truth, it didn’t hit me until I saw them. I saw how happy they were and pretty much picked me up pretty good.”

Senior Eddie Gallegos added, “Its a blessing, it really is to have worked my entire four years to come home senior year with a trophy. It is pretty nice.”
