Las Cruces home gets all decked out for Christmas

To say Susie Nelson is a big fan of Christmas would be putting it mildly.

Nelson doesn’t just like Christmas, she loves it.

So much so that inside her Las Cruces home, one will find a total of 16 Christmas trees with more than 6 thousand ornaments.

Five Christmas trees are in the living room alone and no two trees are the same.

Some trees are taller than others and the lights on all of them are different.

One bedroom of the home is a Winter Wonderland theme, complete with three Christmas trees.

In the bedroom, there’s also a mailbox that Nelson says her grandchildren like to use to send letters to Santa.

Nelson says she and her husband, Ryan Nelson, are the only ones who set everything up.

Both work full-time jobs, but since Susie Nelson is able to work from home, that allows her more time to add some decorations during the day.

Nelson says she and her husband start decorating their home the first week of October.

It’s a process that takes almost a month to complete, but Nelson says to see the amazed looks from family and friends makes it all worth it.
