Police identify pedestrian struck and killed in Lower Valley
Police identified the man struck and killed by a pickup in El Paso’s Lower Valley as 78-year-old Catarino Ibarra.
Ibarra was struck and killed on the intersection of Alameda Avenue and George Orr Road just a few miles away from Ascarate Park at about 7:35 p.m.
Police said the driver of a 1999 Ford Ranger was driving east on Alameda when Ibarra ran onto his path. Police said Ibarra was not on a crosswalk.
The driver of the Ranger was not identified by police. No charges have been filed.
