Sheriff’s Office: Husband torches home after wife caught him with another woman

A man set fire to his mobile home in La Union Wednesday after a domestic dispute with his wife, who accused him of cheating after finding him with another woman, according to Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office.

ABC-7 now has a copy of the statement of fact describing what Doña Ana County Sheriff deputies have learned after a man allegedly set fire to his home.

The Dona Ana County Sheriff’s Office says Francisco Ramos is in custody after he set fire to his mobile home. A statement of fact by a sheriff deputy details testimony from Naomi Ramos, the suspect’s wife, who says she came home Wednesday morning and found Ramos with another woman.

She told the deputy the two had a fight and she left. Moments later, she received a call from a neighbor who told her her home was on fire. Deputies found Ramos later in the day under an overpass with a woman, Jessica Ingram, with a pipe and white powdery substance, court documents state.

Ingram told deputies Ramos had picked her up from a house in El Paso Tuesday night and she spent the night at the La Union home, where Ramos crashed through the chain link fence.

Ingram said Ramos was confronted by his wife Wednesday morning and Ramos started fires around the home before abandoning it.

The fire Marshall has estimated damages are around $20,000. The Sheriff’s office said no one was inside the building as it burned.
