McDonald’s Classic Basketball Tournament Final
It was the final day of the McDonald’s Classic Basketball Tournament out at Del Valle High School.
The Burges Mustangs took on the Roosevelt High School Rough Riders from San Antonio, Texas.
The Mustangs trailed all first half.
Tristen Newton was on fire going for 43 points.
In the first half the big man dented my tripod on his monster dunk!
Burges would catch up in the third quarter and hold on in the fourth.
They beat the Rough Riders 66 to 57.
Coach Padilla had this to say after the game, “It lets El Paso know we can compete against other teams. We competed against two teams from Houston, a team from San Antonio and we did really well in all those games. It just shows that if we work hard enough El Paso basketball can compete across the state of Texas.”
