Two New Mexico State Police Officers injured after being struck by a car

UPDATE: A source close to the investigation has told ABC 7 that both State Police Officers walked out of the hospital at about 11:30 this evening. The officers were bruised and in pain, but did not suffer any broken bones. The source also told ABC 7 that the officers had to get stitches, but did not describe the injury, or inform ABC 7 of how many stitches were necessary.

BREAKING: T wo New Mexico State Police were injured after they were struck by a passing vehicle on US 70 in Las Cruces.

The Officers were conducting a crash investigation Saturday night when they were hit by a car.

According to the NM State Police, the officers are being treated for injuries. No details have been provided on the extent of those injuries.

A source close to the investigation told ABC 7 that the officers suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Officials said the westbound lanes of US 70 near Braham have been closed. Traffic is being directed onto Bataan Memorial West.

Officials have not released information on the driver of the vehicle involved.

No further details have been released at this time.
