LCPD arrest suspect in convenient store robbery

Las Cruces police have arrested a man who allegedly robbed a Circle K Convenient store at 617 W. Picacho Ave shortly before 11 PM last Thursday, February 7th.

Police say 23-year-old Anthony Dean Malone showed an employee he had a black handgun and demanded cash. Malone allegedly left with an undisclosed amount of cash and no injuries were reported.

An LCPD officer matched the description of the suspect to Malone. The officer said he had interacted with the man two days earlier at a Pic Quick store. Malone was allegedly loitering at the store, but did nothing to result in an arrest.

A warrant was issued for Malone’s arrest on February 8th. He was located, arrested, and taken taken into custody. Malone is being held at the Dona Ana County Detention Center without bond.
