NMSU Basketball looks to wrap up first spot in WAC tournament

The NMSU Aggies welcomed the UTRGV Vaqueros to the Pan Am Saturday.

Ivan Aurrecoechea got back in form muscling 20 points in the game to help the Aggies.

He is coming off spraining his knew a few weeks ago.

Heading into halftime the Aggies were up 45 to 32.

UTRGV would go on a 6-0 run to start the half.

The Aggies would respond going on an 8-0 run themselves going up 53 to 38 with 15 and a half left in the game.

At the 6:31 point, Eli Chuha scored his 1,000th point of his NMSU career making him one of only 35 Aggies to accomplish this feat.

NMSU would hold on to win 88 to 79.

At halftime the Aggies welcomed new members to their Hall of Fame.
