Police arrest man wanted for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon

El Paso Police arrested a man for allegedly possessing 5.9 grams of heroin and was wanted for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

The department’s gang unit executed a search warrant early Tuesday at a residence in the 5700 block of Lexington, in Northeast El Paso.

Police said 35-year old Mark Anthony Mares was at the residence, where he allegedly in possession of four pieces of heroin, totaling 5.9 grams and seven individually wrapped baggies containing 2.38 ounces of marijuana.

Mares was also wanted for Aggravated Assault causes Serious Bodily Injury, and Fail to Identify Fugitive Intent Give False Information.

He was booked into the El Paso County Jail with a bond of $63,500.
