Former El Paso Mayor Oscar Leeser to run for mayor in 2020
Former El Paso Mayor Oscar Leeser told ABC-7 he plans to run for mayor of El Paso in 2020.
The president of the Hyundai of El Paso auto dealership was previously mayor of the Sun City from June 24, 2013 until June 26, 2017.
Leeser decided not to seek re-election after his first term in office. At the time, Leeser told ABC-7 he never intended to be a “career politician.”
“I ran to do things I thought were really important for our community and I did that,” Leeser said, “I got elected to represent the people and that’s what I was able to do and I’m very humbled and honored I got that opportunity. “
