Men’s Basketball: NMSU gets redemption with win over Cal Baptist

The New Mexico State men’s basketball team closed out the regular season with a 75-63 win over Cal Baptist Saturday night at the Pan American Center.

The Aggies have now won 16 consecutive games after their last loss, which came in early January against the same Cal Baptist team they defeated Saturday.

NMSU finishes the regular season with a 27-4 overall record and a 15-1 mark in WAC play.

The Aggies only needed about 11 minutes to build a 20 point lead in the game thanks to a hot start from C.J. Bobbitt.

NMSU would lead by 26 points at the half and hold on in the second half to extend their win streak to 16, which is the third longest active streak in the country behind only Gonzaga and Wofford.

The Aggies now must prepare for the WAC Tournament next week in Las Vegas. They’ll being play Thursday in the quarterfinals against Chicago State, a team they’ve already beaten twice by a combined 78 points this year.
