EPPD arrest Juarez man allegedly transporting 168 pounds of pot

A Juarez man pulled over by police in Far East El Paso was allegedly transporting more than 100 pounds of marijuana in a vehicle, El Paso Police said.

Manuel Fernando Martinez, 31, is charged with Possession of Marijuana.

Police said Martinez was driving a GMC Safari van when he was stopped for a traffic violation on Loop 375 at 2 p.m. on March 5, 2019.

A search of the vehicle, police said, resulted in the discovery of several bundles of marijuana concealed within different compartments in the vehicle.

Photos provided by police show bundles of marijuana hidden inside the gas tank, a seat and a speaker system.

Martinez was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility under a $60,000 bond.
