NMSU Aggies selected to compete in NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament

The NMSU Aggies were selected Monday to compete in the 2019 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament.

The Aggies are playing Iowa State at 3:30 p.m. MT on Saturday in a game scheduled to air on ESPN2.

NMSU was given a 14-seed while Iowa State is the number three seed in their region. The game will be played in Ames, Iowa, so it is not a neutral court as fans are accustomed to seeing in the men’s tournament.

NMSU has not lost a game since Jan. 10 and secured an automatic bid to the Big Dance by winning the WAC Tournament Championship for the fourth time in the past five seasons.

NMSU was last in the NCAA Tournament two years ago when they put up a tough fight in their opener as a 15-seed against second-seeded Stanford.
