Man arrested for sexually assaulting a minor in Sunland Park

Sunland Park Police along with US Marshals arrested a man for sexually assaulting a minor on Tuesday.

Sunland Park Police said 35-year-old Daniel Bustamante was wanted for an outstanding warrant facing two charges — criminal sexual assault penetration in the First Degree (Child under 13), and for criminal sexual contact of a minor.

Police said his arrest stems from an ongoing investigation by the Dona Ana County Sheriff’s Office with information gathered by the US Marshals Service.

Bustamante is being held at the Dona Ana County Detention Center without bond awaiting his appearance in court.
