Bike group cycles across North America to raise money for breast cancer

One group of cyclists are hoping their 83-day, 4,150 mile North American ride will help raise money toward breast cancer research.

3 Country Ride made a stop in Las Cruces Wednesday, as a part of its journey from Tijuana, Mexico, through 15 U.S. states, ending June 10 in Saint Stephen, Canada.

Bob Hood, executive director of 3 Country Ride, interviewed Mayor Ken Miyagishima for the group’s “Morning Mingle” segment, which airs on Facebook Live.

The group’s goal is to raise $40,000. Hood told ABC-7, so far, they have raised about $11,000.

“We thank everyone who’s out there,” Hood said. “Whether it’s just $10, $15, $20 or more, it all helps and it’s all going to saving lives.”
