3rd annual Joey Barraza 5K Run/Walk happening this weekend

It’s been three years since the tragic death of Border Patrol Agent Joey Barraza.

Agent Barraza died in a crash involving an 18-wheeler and his Ford F-150 truck. He was assigned to the Sierra Blanca station of the Border Patrol’s Big Bend Sector. The crash took place on westbound lanes of I-10 at Mile Marker 78 near Esperanza.

This Saturday family, friends and former co-workers will gather for the 3rd annual Border Patrol Agent Joey Barraza 5K Run/Walk.

This year’s walk falls on what would have been Agent Barraza’s 32nd birthday.

The walk will take place at Eastwood Park (Album Park) corner of Orkney and Bayo, Saturday April 13th.

Late registration begins at 8 a.m. and race starts at 9 a.m.
