Man shot by sheriff’s deputy in Canutillo dies, sheriff’s office says

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a deadly shooting in Canutillo involving a sheriff’s deputy.

The shooting happened at about 1 p.m. at Talbot and 3rd, the sheriff’s office said.

An official with the sheriff’s office said two parents called the sheriff’s office to report a domestic disturbance involving their 20-year-old son.

When deputies arrived at the home, they were met by the parents outside the home.

As the parents and deputies entered the home, they allegedly encountered the 20-year-old son with a shotgun.

The deputies shot the man, who later died.
