Affidavit: Guillen soccer coach kissed, touched player inappropriately

A Guillen Middle School teacher and soccer coach allegedly kissed and touched one of his players inappropriately, states a criminal complaint affidavit obtained by ABC-7.

Detectives with the El Paso Police Department’s Crimes Against Children Unit arrested and charged Jesus Fernando Sifuentes, 32, with Indecency with a Child and Improper Relationship Between Educator and Student.

The criminal complaint states Sifuentes coached the girl who accused him of touching her.

The girl told investigators she began chatting with Sifuentes via the Messenger phone application in January 2019. Sifuentes told the girl he liked her and the girl told Sifuentes she liked him as well, the affidavit states.

The girl told police she and Sifuentes would have conversations. On one occassion, Sifuentes allegedly told the girl she has “good legs” and was very “beautiful,” the criminal complaint states.

Sifuentes, the criminal complaint further states, told the girl he was jealous of her boyfriend and that he (Sifuentes) wanted to “make love to her.” On Valentine’s Day, Sifuentes allegedly gave the girl a Valentine’s Day card, the document states.

Sifuentes allegedly invited the girl to a high school soccer game, then offered to drive her home after the game.

Sifuentes allegedly drove up to the girl’s home and parked his vehicle. While inside the vehicle, Sifuentes allegedly told the girl he wanted to kiss her.

The girl told police she remained quiet and Sifuentes then asked her if she wanted to kiss him. The girl told police she did not respond and Sifuentes allegedly kissed her.

After the kiss, the girl exited the vehicle and entered her home. Sifuentes then sent the girl a text message to let her know he enjoyed the kiss, the criminal complaint states.

Sifuentes allegedly sent the girl a message, asking her to send him a revealing photo. The court document does not reveal whether the girl sent Sifuentes any photos, but does state Sifuentes sent the girl a photo of him in his underwear.

The criminal complaint states the girl decided to report Sifuentes when he allegedly touched her inappropriately at a later date.

Sifuentes resigned soon after his arrest in late March. He was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility under bonds totaling $100,000. Online jail records state Sifuentes posted bond on April 5, 2019.
