After hours of deliberation, a jury found 21-year-old Cornelius Dewayne Harrison guilty of murdering 21-year-old Frank Alexander Hernandez in January 2018.

Following the shooting last year, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said deputies found Hernandez’s body in the middle of the road on the 4400 block of Stagecoach Road in far East El Paso. Harrison was arrested two days later. According to court documents obtained by ABC-7, Harrison reportedly shot Hernandez four times because he thought he was stealing from him. Harrison then tried to destroy evidence linking him to the murder.

The sentencing phase of the trial is expected to begin Tuesday morning. Stay with ABC-7 for the latest information on this trial.
