Luis Uras wins PCL Player of the Week as Chihuahuas stay hot

Chihuahuas infielder Luis Urías has been named the Pacific Coast League Player of the Week after posting six home runs and 11 RBI in six wins last week for his team.

Urías hit three home runs Sunday in a win over Las Vegas just one day after he went deep twice in a game against the Aviators.

His success at the plate fueled El Paso to a five-game sweep in Las Vegas and their ninth win in a row overall.

After starting the season just 1-6, the Chihuahuas have now won 15 of their last 16 games to take a 1.5 game lead over Las Vegas for first in their division.

Urías has recorded 18 hits in just ten games with the Chihuahuas since he was recalled from the San Diego Padres to help El Paso vault into first place.

The Chihuahuas will begin a new series at Fresno Monday night at 7:35 p.m.
