UPDATE: EPPD K9 that escaped handler has been found
The El Paso Police Department said a K9 that had escaped her enclosure early in the morning in East El Paso has been found.
Police said Kyra, a Belgian Malinois, was seen near Montwood and Zaragoza. She was eventually located near Pebble Hills and Rich Beem.
Police had cautioned the public to not attempt to approach her, even though she has a good temperament.
Residents were instructed to call 911 if they saw her.
EPPD says while the K9 officer has a good temperament, the public should not attempt to approach her, but call 911 instead.
It’s not clear who helped find Kyra at this point.
