Teen stabbed in chest overnight in El Paso’s Lower Valley

A 19-year-old man was hospitalized Tuesday after an overnight stabbing in El Paso’s Lower Valley, police and fire officials said.

It happened just after 2 a.m. in the 400 block of Francis Street, not far from Modesto Gomez Park.

Police said they lacked a description of the teen’s attacker because he “provided conflicting accounts as to how and where he was assaulted.”

The victim was being treated at University Medical Center for a “puncture wound to his chest,” which authorities described as a serious but not life-threatening injury.
