Police confirm body was found in trunk of car emitting ‘extreme foul smell’ at east El Paso motel

Police confirmed Thursday that a body was indeed found in trunk of car that was discovered emitting a ”foul smell” earlier this week.

The car was parked outside the El Paso Inn at 6210 Montana Avenue on the city’s eastside and was towed away by police on Tuesday night after people in the area reported an “extreme foul smell and fly activity around the car.”

A police spokesman on Thursday said officers later “discovered a human corpse in the trunk” of the car.

The medical examiner was still in the process of conducting an autopsy to determine the person’s identity and a cause of death, according to police.
