NMSU survives scare by CSU Bakersfield, 61-57

Nothing has come easy for the NMSU Aggies this season, but they still find ways to win.

NMSU once again found themselves in the win column after defeating WAC rival California State University Bakersfield by a final score of 61-57.

The victory marked the 10th win in a row for the Aggies who remain undefeated in WAC play (7-0)

NMSU's overall record improved to 16-6.

Clinging to a one-point lead with 1:35 to go, senior Shunn Buchanan came up with a game-changing steal on the defensive end to put the ball back in the Aggies hands.

Ivan Aurrecoechea tied his career high with 23 points, Jabari Rice added 20 more and NMSU survived for the gritty victory.

The Aggies will now turn their attention to WAC rival Grand Canyon University Saturday at the Pan American Center.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
