Perfection for NMSU; Aggies defeat Cal Baptist, 83-50 to end WAC play undefeated

Las Cruces, NM - The New Mexico State Aggies wrapped up their regular season Thursday night when they hosted WAC rival California Baptist University.

Even though the Aggies staked claim to the WAC regular season title weeks ago, there was still something to play for, a perfect conference season.

NMSU was looking to remain perfect in WAC play and the Aggies accomplished just that after defeating California Baptist by a final score of 83-50.

NMSU ended the regular season with an overall record of 25-6 and 16-0 in WAC play.

The Aggies became just the third team in WAC history to remain perfect in conference play and they're the first team to do it with 16 straight victories.

Along with remaining undefeated in WAC play, the Aggies also extended their current win streak to 19 wins in a row.

The game against the CBU Lancers was never close.

NMSU maintained the lead the whole game and went into the half up 46-20.

Five Aggies ended the night in double figures including Trevelin Queen who led the way in scoring for NMSU with 19 points.

NMSU will now turn their attention to the WAC Tournament where the Aggies will be the number one seed.

The WAC Tournament begins March 11th in Las Vegas, Nevada.
