EL PASO, Texas-- How far would you drive to surprise a loved one on their birthday? For Julio Cesar Segura the answer would be 9-hours back and forth!

Segura wanted to make sure that he and his daughters yearly birthday tradition wasn't broken due to COVID-19.

Segura makes sure to take his daughter, Diana Segura, lunch every year on her birthday but this year that tradition was a bit different.

Diana lives in Austin, Texas. Her 19th birthday would have to be celebrated at home due to the pandemic, but her dad still wanted to make sure he sent her lunch on her birthday and promised her he would get it delivered through Uber Eats.

When Diana went to open her door she was surprised to see her dad instead of the delivery driver!

Diana’s dad drove nearly 9 hours to surprise his daughter with a homemade sign, balloons and a chicken sandwich from Chick-Fil-A!

Julio Cesar Segura drove to surprise his daughter in Austin then drove right back home to El Paso after the impromptu birthday lunch.

They both ate the meal outside of Diana’s apartment and made sure to enjoy each others presence six feet apart.

Right after their impromptu birthday lunch, Julio drove back to El Paso.

Diana posted the amazing story on her twitter page and it has since gotten over 200,000 likes and over 12 thousand re-tweets.

Way to go dad!
