StormTRACK Weather: Hot & hazy for the Summer Solstice

AQ062020

El Paso, Texas- Westerly winds will bring seasonably hot weather under mostly sunny skies to southern New Mexico and west Texas today. Patchy areas of smoke will occur for locations north of Las Cruces and hazy conditions for areas south.

El Paso will top off at 100 degrees for our afternoon high. West northwest winds from 5-15 MPH, gusts in the 20s.

Las Cruces will top off at 97, with west winds from 5-15 MPH.

Dona Aña County has an Air Quality Alert in place until noon. That's all thanks to the smoke from the wildfires in our area. Those who have respiratory issues should limit any outdoor activity.

The triple digit temperatures will be with us all weekend long. Remember to stay hydrated, avoid peak sun times and wear plenty of sunscreen. Rain chances return to the forecast by midweek.
