Director of El Paso History and Art Museums arrested for alleged prostitution

EL PASO, Texas -- El Paso police arrested Vladimir Alexey Von Tsurikov, 50, for allegedly paying for sex with a woman he met online.

A City of El Paso spokesperson confirms to ABC-7 Tsurikov was the Director of the El Paso History and Art Museums, but he is now no longer employed with the city.

Police said a joint investigation by the department's Vice Unit, the Texas Department of Public Safety and Homeland Security Investigations is what led to the arrest. The woman Tsurikov had allegedly been talking to was an undercover police detective.

Police said Von Tsurikov agreed to meet with the woman, and discussed "services" provided. He allegedly handed the detective $80 as payment. Investigators arrested Tsurikov at the scene.

Tsurikov was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility under a $500 bond.
