Arrest made in fatal motorcycle crash; investigators say second rider fled, didn’t render aid

UPDATE Feb. 22 -- Sheriff's investigators say a man involved in a crash that led to a motorcyclist's death fled the scene of the crash and failed to render aid.

The El Paso County Sheriff's Office arrested Gabriel Gonzalez for an accident involving death. He was booked on a $100,000 bond. Investigators say Gonzalez was riding with the victim, Victor Minjarez on Saturday, Feb. 19.

Minjarez veered off the roadway, striking a wooden pole. Investigators say he immediately died at the scene.

UPDATE Feb. 20 -- A motorcyclist is dead after colliding with an electrical pole on North Loop Road in Clint on Saturday night, according to a spokesman from the El Paso Sheriff's Office.

The Sheriff's Office identified the rider as 37-year-old Minjarez Victor Abram and said he died immediately after hitting the pole. The crash happened around 6:30 p.m. at the 13200 block of North Loop road

Investigators had closed off parts of North Loop road from Fenton road to FM 110.

ORIGINAL REPORT CLINT, Texas -- A motor vehicle crash Saturday evening closed down parts of North Loop Rd. in Clint, TX.

The El Paso Sheriff's Office said that a motor vehicle crash happened at 6:30 p.m. at the 13200 block of North Loop Rd.

Officials with the Sheriff's Office say that North Loop Rd. is closed from Fenter Rd. to FM 110. No word on when the road will open again.

A spokesman for the Sheriff's Office said they did not have any information on injuries or what caused the crash.
