Man arrested in connection to fire investigation

EL PASO, Texas -- A multi agency investigation led by fire and police officials resulted in the arrest of Christopher Hynes in connection to a fire that happened on May 10th at a business on the 9400 Block of Dyer Street.

According to fire officials, fire crews were dispatched to the fire at around 8:17 a.m. where witnesses at the scene identified Hynes as a person who may have caused the fire.

Police attempted to contact him, however, Hynes fled the scene and resisted arrest.

Police turned Hynes over to the Fire Marshal's Office Investigators who arrested and booked him into the El Paso County Detention Center Facility.

Hynes faces the following charges:


• Arson and Reckless Damage
• Criminal Mischief
• Resisting Arrest Search or Transport
• Assault Against a Public Servant
• Evading Arrest and Detention
• Possession of a Controlled Substance
• Failure to Identify
