County Judge, Ricardo Samaniego feeling grief over Uvalde, Texas shooting

EL PASO, Texas-El Paso County Judge Ricardo Samaniego tells ABC-7 he was overcome with grief when he learned about the Uvalde, Texas school shooting.

Samaniego says he had to leave his office on the third floor of the El Paso county courthouse to try to recover emotionally.

The county judge says this shooting comes just days after the community came together for a day of remembrance at the healing garden in Ascarate Park, honoring the victims of the August 3rd, 2019 Cielo Vista Walmart shooting.

Samaniego wrote to city and county leaders in Buffalo, New York, after a shooting claimed the lives of ten people inside a supermarket.

He says he will now reach out to city and county leaders in Uvalde to express his condolences and offer any help.
