El Paso police seek information about transgender teen after report she was assaulted

EL PASO, Texas – El Paso police are seeking information about a transgender teen named "Tracey" after they were contacted about a report she was assaulted outside an El Paso Library.

The assault was reported on May 25 in the Los Angeles Blade. According to the article, four men approached Tracey, 17, outside an El Paso Library. The article says Tracey was at the library finishing her high school work before heading to a halfway house where she lives because he parents kicked her out for being transgender.

El Paso police deny an allegation in the article that they refused to take an assault report.

El Paso Police say they are working with the Borderland Rainbow Center and PFLAG to ask the community if anyone has information on this incident and to come forward.
