VADO, New Mexico- Every other weekend the Vado Speedway Park lights up.
With all types of vehicles from legends to stock cars the track is roaring with personally altered engines taking drivers to the checkered flag.
Under the helmet though you neve know who is piloting those missiles on wheels.
Wife and mother of two young children, Kristen Denman drives the #48 stock car.
The idea of a male dominated sport doesn't bother her in the least.
“My husband comes out here and makes sure I’m good to go. My kids are out here already scraping mud, I have all my cousins here supporting me,” Denman said.
Along with lady drivers, 12 year old pilot of #17 "The Smurf" Miguel Rincon also swaps paint with the other heavy duty motor machines.
“Well my mom gets a little bit nervous when I'm out here but my Dad loves seeing me out there. He gets excited too but he always congratulates me even if I do bad or good,” Rincon shared with ABC-7.
Denman explained to ABC-7 that the Vado Speedway Park will be having a bicycle drive for underprivileged kids.
