Doña Ana County Man facing first-degree murder charge in wife’s death has previous felony conviction

DOÑA ANA COUNTY, New Mexico -- In the statement of fact released by the Doña Ana County Sheriff's Office, a man facing first-degree murder charges in the death of his wife was previously convicted of Child Abuse and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

Bob Yacone is facing charges in the shooting and killing of his wife, Kim Yacone, according to the Doña Ana County Sheriff's Office.

The couple owned "Forghedaboudit!", a local Italian restaurant in Picacho Hills.

Doña Ana County Sheriff Kim Stewart Stewart explained during Tuesday's press conference that Kim Yacone had previously filed restraining orders regarding weapons in their home.

Since Bob Yacone is a convicted felon, he would not legally be allowed to own a firearm.

Currently, Bob Yacone is hospitalized, and he remains in stable condition. He is expected to survive. There is a warrant for his arrest that is expected to be carried out as soon as he is released from the hospital.
