ABC-7 StormTRACK Weather: Cold front on the way brings winds and rain chances

Happy Sunday everyone! Today is the day we will see a change in our weather...all due to a cold front that will move in from the NE between 11am and 5pm today. This cold front will drop our temperatures to where they should be at this time of year for the week ahead. However, it'll also increase our winds and even give us a chance of rain!

As the front passes, you'll notice a slight increase in the winds, and a wind shift too (they will start to come out of the north, and then shift to the east). You can expect gusts up to about 25-30 mph, especially on the western slopes and foothills this afternoon.

As for rain, the front will be a weak one, so it won't likely cause widespread storms. But as fronts are lifting mechanisms, some storms will be able to take advantage of the boost and become full blown storms. None are expected to be severe. Roads will become slick, and winds will pick up around the storms as well.

After today, our temperatures will finally become seasonable, with daily highs in the mid 80s each day for the week ahead. Enjoy and stay safe!
