Former warden, brother accused of shooting migrants reappear before judge on additional charges

Sierra Blanca, TX- Two West Texas brothers linked to the fatal shooting of a migrant are expected to appear in front of a judge Wednesday for new bond hearings.

Mark and Michael Sheppard, who are both 60-years-old, turned themselves in Tuesday night.

Investigators say the Sheppards claim they were near a reservoir in the Sierra Blanca area last week looking for game when Michael Sheppard fired two shots.

They said they didn't check to see if the rounds struck anything before leaving.

The arrest warrant, however, accuses the Sheppards of purposely pulling over their vehicle and opening fire on the group.

Authorities say one migrant was killed and another was injured.

The Sheppards were previously arrested in connection to the incident and released on bond Monday.

They are now facing additional charges.
