8,600 steps a day could keep the weight away

If you count steps on your fitness tracker then we have news for you. Researchers have found that 8,600 steps a day will prevent weight gain in adults. The number jumps to 11,000 steps for adults who are already overweight and what to cut their odds at becoming obese.

The study followed more than 6,000 people for, four years to gather the information. Studios show that the average person gains one to two pounds every year from young adulthood through middle age.

Walking those steps can help prevent that plus it helps with conditions like diabetes hypertension, and depression. According to the CDC, even moving just 20 minutes a day is beneficial for your health.
