High school football head injuries could be reduced

CNN --

Head injuries in high school football happened quite often and can sometimes even cause death. Limiting contact in practice may be one of the best ways to reduce chronic head injuries.

According to a new study published in the Journal of Pediatrics, researchers found that head hits were drastically cut when kids practiced "air" training, meaning drills without contact. This led them to conclude that a change in the way kids practice could reduce the effects of football on their heads.

Football is the number one sport for boys n high school but the numbers have dropped as more and more parent are concerned about the long-term effects of head injuries.
