El Paso homeless shelter sees influx of over 300 migrants, demand for services double

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA)— The Opportunity Center for the homeless saw a total of over 300 migrants arrive at their facility Wednesday.

A small parking lot near the center is now being used as a campsite for the migrants, due to over capacity.

People are sleeping on cardboard under makeshift tents.

The Opportunity Center said they have seen a demand for services doubled.

They're asking the community for assistance in donating food ingredients to provide three meals to the migrant population in their facilities.
