White House preparing for influx of migrants when Title 42 is lifted

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) - Leaders in Washington D.C. are working to create solutions on the expected surge in migrants when Title 42 is lifted in the coming weeks.

The Biden Administration has announced that they will be setting up regional processing centers to help migrants apply to come to the United States.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas held a press conference Thursday explaining how the federal government is preparing for the migrant surge.

These centers would be built across different countries in Central and South America.

Title 42, the CDC health order put in place during the pandemic, is set to be lifted on Thursday, May 11.
