Sunday Xtra: Former Rep. Rodriguez speaks out on the use of city-issued credit cards

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- ABC-7 has been bringing you exclusive reporting on the use of your taxpayer dollars by city leaders and staff, specifically the use of gas cards and city issued credit cards, also known as "P" cards.

While few current or former city leaders are coming forward to talk about the issue, one did exclusively speak to ABC-7 on an edition of Sunday Xtra.

Former representative Claudia Rodriguez says she wants to set the record straight on her use of the city issued- "P" card. A city audit found she used her card several times in one day, purchasing Halloween costumes to the tune of $7,500.

The city has not turned over receipts for those purchases, and a source close to the investigation into the use of those cards says those receipts have not been submitted.

Rodriguez tells ABC-7 she submitted all of her receipts. We also asked the former representative if she received proper training on the use of those cards. Hear her response, Sunday on ABC-7 Xtra at 10:35pm.
