Fort Bliss welcomes the return of deployed soldiers to El Paso

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- The 1st Armored Division Combat Aviation Brigade returned from an overseas deployment earlier this month.

Fort Bliss welcomed the return of these soldiers with an Uncasing Ceremony that was scheduled earlier this morning. Approximately 1900 soldiers returned upon serving in the European Command Theater for nine months.

An uncasing of the colors is a traditional ceremony symbolizing the units movement of operations from Europe back to Fort Bliss.

"We're about to start getting back into our training cycles. Our soldiers are back here reintegrating into the community, not only with their families, but with the local community across El Paso. And on the training side, there's going to be a lot more helicopter noise here in and around El Paso," said Colonel John Morris, Commander of the CAB First Armored Division.
