Russia’s foreign minister thanks North Korea for ‘unwavering’ support of its war in Ukraine

By The Associated Press

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has thanked North Korea for its support for Russia’s war on Ukraine as he arrived in Pyongyang. He spoke Wednesday on a visit that comes days after the United States said the North had transferred munitions to Russia to boost its warfighting capabilities. Lavrov said his visit is an opportunity to discuss implementing the agreements that President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un signed when they met in Russia in September. Lavrov says Russia highly appreciates North Korea’s “principled, unequivocal support for Russia’s actions” in Ukraine. The White House has said North Korea delivered more than 1,000 containers of military equipment and munitions to Russia.
