El Paso FBI Office warns of “Grandparent Scam”

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- Grandparents often have a hard time saying no to their grandchildren, which is something scam artists know all too well.

Scammers can easily can create storylines to prey on the fears of grandparents by searching social media or even just blindly calling without giving a name of a relative.

John Morales, Special Agent in Charge of the El Paso office of the FBI, appeared on ABC-7 at 4 to discuss how "Grandparent Scams" work and how senior citizens can avoid falling victim to the scam.
