Cooler weekend, light showers ahead

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- A cold front will move in from the north late tonight, setting up gusty overnight winds.

Temperatures will run seasonable to slightly below normal through the weekend and into the start of next week.

On Sunday afternoon and evening, some moisture from the east may bring showers, but chances are low.

Monday looks mostly dry with lingering low shower chances mainly over the Gila.

Rain chances increase again on Tuesday as another weather disturbance moves through.

Any Tuesday rain is expected to be light, with a few thunderstorms possible.

By Wednesday, conditions trend drier. However, rain could return slightly by Thursday with low chances.

Overall, expect a cooler stretch with only spotty precipitation with winds being the main overnight concern.

Highs for today will be 74 F El Paso, 74 F Las Cruces.
