Man rescued after falling around 25 feet off of Mt. Cristo Rey

SUNLAND PARK, New Mexico (KVIA) -- The Sunland Park Fire Department (SPFD) says a 34-year-old man was flown to a local hospital after falling around 25 feet off of Mt. Cristo Rey into jagged rocks.

Officials say that the call came in at 3:25 a.m. Saturday morning.

According to SPFD, fire units as well as members of the U.S. Army and US Border Patrol El Paso Sector agents were able to rescue the man.

The man was airlifted to by El Paso Fire Department's Fire Star 1 and taken to University Medical Center in stable condition.
